  1. IRIX 6.4 Applications, August 1997
  2. ----------------------------------
  3. This is the companion CD for IRIX 6.4 for Origin, Onyx2
  4. and  OCTANE, and contains the Indigo Magic Desktop and
  5. various desktop applications. This CD replaces the previous
  6. IRIX 6.4 for Origin, Onyx2, and OCTANE Applications,
  7. February1997 CD with the following exceptions:

  9. -Insignia's SoftWindows95 version 4.0 is now shipping on a separate CD. 
  10. -We are no longer supporting the Xing Streamworks Player.

  12. Note regarding the products:
  13. ----------------------------
  14. The System Administration tools (sysadmdesktop 6.4) on this CD are
  15. not compatible with Netscape Communicator 4.x versions (which have
  16. not released from Silicon Graphics at the time this CD is being released). 
  17. If you are downloading the latest Communicator 4.x versions over the
  18. web, you will need to obtain a patch to sysadmdesktop from Silicon
  19. Graphics to make sysadmdesktop tools work correctly with Communicator
  20. 4.x.

  34. software license, please contact Silicon Graphics' support
  35. organization (800-800-4SGI). Customers outside of the US
  36. and Canada should contact their local Silicon Graphics
  37. office. If you are a customer of a Silicon Graphics
  38. reseller, please contact your local support provider.

  43. Installation information 
  44. ------------------------  
  45. IMPORTANT: If you are installing all of IRIX, you should
  46. first insert the IRIX 6.4 for Origin, Onyx2, and OCTANE CD.
  47. Inst will then prompt you to load any additional
  48. CD's such as this one before making your installation
  49. selections or beginning the installation. Loading all CD's
  50. will allow you to avoid conflicts caused by product
  51. dependencies across the CD's. 
  52.  
  53. Much of this software may be pre-installed if you are
  54. purchasing a new system after the software release date.
  55. These products will appear as 'same version' in inst.
  56.  
  57. This software is supported only on Origin 200, Origin 2000,
  58. Onyx2 and OCTANE systems. 
  59.  
  60. You may choose to read the release notes for products before
  61. installing them. You can now view the release notes easily
  62. from Software Manager: when you click on the product, the
  63. product name will highlight in blue if there are release
  64. notes available. Simply click again on the link to bring up
  65. the Release Notes window.
